Being Present in the Moment

best the best version of yourself

“Whatever has happened to you in your past has no power over this present moment, because life is now
“-Oprah Winfrey

Hello everyone,

I hope you are doing well. Has the Christmas spirit hit you yet? Are you shopping or decorating? I hope you are not stressing over gifts, family, or anything that will keep you from being focus. The holiday time is always a great time to show more appreciation and gratitude.

But for many of us, it is also a time to remind us of our emptiness or loneliness of things that we do not have. For example, for myself, I can relate to both sides… the haves and the have-nots. Seriously 😊…

There are parts of me, that loves the holidays but contrary to this part of me, there is sadness in me, that I wish wasn’t there. Right?! Does that make sense? Whether you have lost a loved one, experience sickness, rejection, or abandonment, we all have grieved at some point in our life. What about you? Can you relate to this?

Either way, Gratitude and Appreciation for both good and bad has always been helpful to embrace…When we hold onto negative experiences, it makes anger, bitter, depress, or sick. Internal turmoil affects our health, body, mind, and spirit.
I encourage people to let it out, let it go, and to eventually create space where you can let the pain dissipate from your conscious mind.

In addition to the sadness of our past, we must NOT disregard the present moment of our NOW. Yes, we run with excitement of the hopes, dreams, and plans for the future. For the word says “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
—Jeremiah 29:11.

Its great to have hopes and dreams, but we not lose sight of the PRESENT… When we focus too much on the future, it can lead us to become more anxious and stress.

No, seriously, think about it? In other words, when we always focus on what we do not have, we do not have it and will not have it.
If we focus on what we have right now, it lessens our anxiety from what we do not have, it replenishes the control of what we do have…right now.

Let me say it again, If we focus on the past, we live in bondage. Guilt and shame sit on both sides of us and tell us stories, and we believe them. If we focus too much on the future stress, fear, and worry gets a hold of us. Doing either holds us, Hostage of the NOW.

THINK ABOUT THAT? I hope you got it!

Aww 😊… You got it….

Being present help. It helps us cope with the past and be patient for our future. In addition, it helps us develop an appreciation for ourselves and the people around us. Gratitude helps us become more grounded, more connected, less irritable, and centered…. Can you invest in yourself right now (mind, body, spirit)?… it helps prepare and develop our heart and minds for space in our future and it also heals the brokenness of our past….

Give yourself more love….Be kind, and most especially be more patience with yourself because we all need another chance to get it right…again…and…again…

Hope you stay safe and warm!

P.S. Please share with someone else, should they need to be encouraged, inspired, or uplifted. The Lord promises that one day he will wipe away every tear from your eyes.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. (Revelation 21:4)
